My audio recordings are a great way to start taking better care of yourself today. Listen to a single track or a whole album and reap the benefits of a proven change strategy for a fraction the cost of a therapy session. Whichever strategy you choose — self-compassion, mindful eating, hypnosis, relaxation training – all that’s required is a comfortable seat, an open mind and a willingness to follow along.
All my recordings help you travel inward to a focused state, but what happens next distinguishes one from the other. In hypnosis and relaxation training, change happens through “doing,” such as actively recalling a tranquil scene or overcoming obstacles. In mindfulness and self-compassion, change comes through “being,” paying attention without judgment to breathing, eating, among other things.
Listen carefully and you’ll likely hear exceptions — suggestions for being and doing in guided visualizations or meditative trances — but keep listening and you’ll measurably improve your health and well-being, and significantly enhance the quality, if not the quantity, of your life. Careful listening will also help you decide if you need something more: individual psychotherapy, group support or just another CD. To learn about the various recordings and what people are saying about them, read on.
Excerpted from my album Self-Compassion-Based Eating Awareness Training, this track features a short self-compassion breathing meditation, plus basic meditation tips.

What Listeners Are Saying
“Just loved it! Thank you.”
“I will repeat this meditation again. We often eat out of habit or social convenience and don’t pay attention at all to our sensations.”
My self-compassion groups have helped countless participants resolve long-standing eating issues. If you’re not quite ready, willing or able to attend an in-person group, you can work toward a compassionate resolution by listening to this eight-session training. Once you download the album, sit back, relax and listen and learn from the mini-lectures, mindfulness meditations, self-compassion practices and discussion questions. Between tracks, do the suggested homework and get in the habit of taking good care of yourself.

What Listeners Are Saying
“Listening to Jean reminds me that change happens in baby steps. I expect the kind of change that comes with loud booms and fireworks, but that is rarely the case. Jean gives me the courage to persevere!”
“I am grateful indeed for the hours spent learning. I will be walking away from this chapter with a new commitment to self-compassion in all areas of my life (not just eating), and Jean’s kind voice echoing in my mind.”

The secret to overcoming overeating isn’t counting calories or depriving yourself at the dinner table. It’s about cultivating self-compassion wherever you are. Like the book, The Self-Compassion Diet audio companion reveals the secret to transforming your relationship with food and body. Listen to my recorded voice and it couldn’t be easier to implement two proven approaches to overcoming overeating: self-compassion and self-hypnosis. Make yourself comfortable and my voice will guide you through two mini-lectures and 11 transformational practices.
